CHRISTMAS ADVENT CALENDAR

Check out this Advent Calendar
I used an 11" x 24" frame ($3 from Walmart)

I had no plans on how I wanted it to turn out.
So I started by stamping each date using Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler.

This angle is to try to help you see it better.

After I stamped image onto Very Vanilla I punched them out with the 1" square punch.
Then I chose from the DSP "Be of Good Cheer".  I tried to stay away from the lighter pages so the images would show up better.  I then punched them out with the Postage Stamp Punch.

After they were done I needed to bling it up!  So I layered them over the Red Glimmer Paper and punched them with the 1 3/8" square punch.

For the background, I used the 12x12 DSP and cut an inch off the bottom. (Now you have 12 x 11 piece)
Then I took another piece of 12 x 12 (red) and cut (2) the size 1 1/2" X 11" (for both the left and right sides.)

I then took more of the red DSP and cut another (2) strips, this time the size would be 1" x 11"  (this goes across the top and bottom)

I see now that I could have made it either way 11" high x 14" wide (the way I did it) or 14" high x 11" wide.  Either way works!!  Cuz you have 5 rows of 5!!!

Stamps:  25 & Counting (page 17)
Cardstock:  Gumball Green (In Color) (page 152) Cherry Cobbler (page155), Very Vanilla (page 156) DSP Be of Good Cheer (pg 164), Red Glimmer Paper (page 160)
Accessories:  1" square punch (page 183), Postage Stamp Punch (page 182), 1 3/8" square punch (page 183)

    PLAYING WITH WATERCOLORS

I love to watercolor!  So here is my attempt at it!

As usual, the card is much nicer in real life!

I used the top of the ink pads and the aqua painter to do this.  Stamping with Black Stazon first onto watercolor paper.

I don't have my regular computer back yet so I don't know how to crop with this one.  But I did figure out how to add my watermark.  Yay!

Up close shot of the watercoloring.  (click on any photo to make larger)

    Recipe:
Stamp:  Country Morning (retired), Warmest Regards
Ink:  More Mustard, Black Stazon, Cajun Craze, Real Red, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand (for the basket)
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Watercolor Paper
Accessories:  Square Lattice Textured Impressions, Eyelet border punch, Linen thread, sponges, dimensionals, Aquapainter

Another card I found on Pinterest got my attention.
Below is my take on the card found here,

    3X3 POST IT NOTE HOLDER

    HAPPY FEET!!!

I love finding new things to make and I love it even more when there is a tutorial and directions!

So here is a 3x3 post it note holder to make just in time for the holidays!

Please watch her video to see how to make it.

Ain't it cute????  And sooooo darn easy to make!

I am borrowing my husband's laptop so I don't know how to crop these pictures!  But I finally learned how to put my name etc. on it.

I would definitely view the video to see how she makes it, but you don't have to write down the dimensions as I have listed them here for you.

    Here are the measurements:

    • Gumball green card stock measures 7 3/8" W x 3 1/4" H
    • score across long side at 3 1/8", 3 1/2", and 3 7/8"
    • Cherry Cobbler is 2 7/8" W x 3 1/8" H
    • Very Vanilla is 2 3/4" W x 3" H
    • Designer paper selections are punched with the 1 1/4" square punch  (as you can see there is a larger space between the top squares and the bottom squares, but because of the large cut out, it pretty much covers it.

    HALLOWEEN CARDS

I know it just turned September, but I'm trying to get a head start on Halloween!  I found this card on pinterest click here to see tutorial.  I used a different stamp set than Joan did because I didn't want to cut out each image.  The set I used was Tricky Treats and you can punch them out!

Stamp Set:  Tricky Treats pg 28 of catalog
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper pg 24 of the Holiday Catalog
Ink:  Basic Black (I recommend using Stazon instead)
Punches:  Curly Label, Extra Large Oval, Extra Large Tag, 1 3/4" Circle Punch  pages 182-185

These next two cards I created for a class I am doing.  I really like how they turned out.  The Halloween DSP "Howlstooth & Scaringbone" is very versatile.  I used the same design but different colors for the background

I used More Mustard on this card.  The Basic Black is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and the More Mustard opens up and is 8" x 5 1/4" (scored at 4")

And Tangerine Tango on this one.  The Basic Black is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and the More Mustard opens up and is 8" x 5 1/4" (scored at 4")

    Both cards I used:

Stamp Set:  Googly Ghouls pg 27 of Holiday Catalog
Cardstock:  Basic Black (for background) More Mustard, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, DSP Howlstooth & Scaringbone (pg 24 of the Holiday Catalog)
    Ink:  Black Stazon
Accessories:  Black Satin Ribbon (retired)  1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle, 1 3/4" scallop circle, modern label punch (I cut a very vanilla, then a basic black.  cut the basic black down the middle and then glued the pieces to the back of the very vanilla), dimensionals

    THANK YOU CARDS

One of the gals here at the Summer School saw me stamping with her niece and mentioned how she loved the frogs and the butterflies.  So I decided to make some cards for her.  I decided on simple and easy.  I like how they turned out.  Sorry about the shadow from the window, but these turned out better than the other photos I took of them.

If you click on the pictures, they will get bigger.  Then you can see where I scored above and below the ribbon to give it a pop.  I also used the markers to get the two colors of the butterflies.

    Midnight Muse & Gumball Green
    (2012-14 In Colors)

    Primrose Petals & Raspberry Ripple
    (2012-14 In Colors)

Stamp Set:  Papillon Potpourri, Lacy & Lovely (Salutation), Moving Forward (Ronald McDonald House Stamp Set-frog)
    Cardstock:  Whisper White
Ink: Primrose Petals & Raspberry Ripple and markers    other card used Midnight Muse & Gumball Green ink & markers
Accessories:  Raspberry Ripple Ribbon and scoring

Next cards I stamped once on the card, then stamped again on a piece of scrap and punched it out and layered it on top of the first stamped image to get a "floating" look.

I also scored 3 lines in front of the Salutation but made them angle off.  To see a closer look, click on the picture.

    KINDNESS MATTERS

There is a dear friend of mine who is like a sister to me.  I have spent the last 5 summers with her here at the Taft Summer School in Watertown, CT.  I created this card for her because she IS kindness!  I love how this card turned out and I was able to tell her inside the card how blessed I am to know her and how much I care about her.

I hope you like this card too.

    MALE CARDS

I was on Pinterest again and found another idea I had to CASE.

The card I cased was from Angela McKay (but I couldn't make out her website)

So here is my rendition of her card.

I used retired Mocha Morning DSP (love it!)

Stamp Set:  Retired Hostess Set Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired)
    Ink:  Soft Suede
Cardstock:  DSP Mocha Morning (retired), Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
