THANK YOU CARDS

One of the gals here at the Summer School saw me stamping with her niece and mentioned how she loved the frogs and the butterflies.  So I decided to make some cards for her.  I decided on simple and easy.  I like how they turned out.  Sorry about the shadow from the window, but these turned out better than the other photos I took of them.

If you click on the pictures, they will get bigger.  Then you can see where I scored above and below the ribbon to give it a pop.  I also used the markers to get the two colors of the butterflies.

Midnight Muse & Gumball Green
(2012-14 In Colors)

Primrose Petals & Raspberry Ripple
(2012-14 In Colors)

Stamp Set:  Papillon Potpourri, Lacy & Lovely (Salutation), Moving Forward (Ronald McDonald House Stamp Set-frog)
Cardstock:  Whisper White
Ink: Primrose Petals & Raspberry Ripple and markers    other card used Midnight Muse & Gumball Green ink & markers
Accessories:  Raspberry Ripple Ribbon and scoring

Next cards I stamped once on the card, then stamped again on a piece of scrap and punched it out and layered it on top of the first stamped image to get a "floating" look.

I also scored 3 lines in front of the Salutation but made them angle off.  To see a closer look, click on the picture.

KINDNESS MATTERS

There is a dear friend of mine who is like a sister to me.  I have spent the last 5 summers with her here at the Taft Summer School in Watertown, CT.  I created this card for her because she IS kindness!  I love how this card turned out and I was able to tell her inside the card how blessed I am to know her and how much I care about her.

I hope you like this card too.

MALE CARDS

I was on Pinterest again and found another idea I had to CASE.

The card I cased was from Angela McKay (but I couldn't make out her website)

So here is my rendition of her card.

I used retired Mocha Morning DSP (love it!)

Stamp Set:  Retired Hostess Set Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired)
Ink:  Soft Suede
Cardstock:  DSP Mocha Morning (retired), Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Decorative Label Punch, sponging, Designer Naturals Button, Linen Thread, dimensionals, glue dots (behind button)

REASON TO SMILE - SAMPLES

I found a card on Pinterest using the stamp set special this month called "REASON TO SMILE"  So I decided to CASE it!  (Copy And Share Everything).

To see the original card inspired by Sarah Wills, go to www.sarahsinkspot.com

I decided to use the new 2012-2014 In Colors!

Midnight Muse

Summer Starfruit

Raspberry Ripple

Gumball Green

Primrose Petals

Here is what I used to make these cards:

Stamp Set:  Reason to Smile, Perfect Punches
Cardstock:  2012-2014 In Colors, Whisper White
Ink:  2012-2014 In Colors
Accessories:  2012-2014 In Colors Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Basic Pearls

I used the technique called "stamping off" where you ink up the stamp, stamp onto the cardstock, then stamp again without reinking.  You get a dark image then a lighter one.

I added a basic pearl on the "I" of Birthday and added dimensionals to POP up the flower image and greeting.

Please leave me a comment on what you think or if you have any questions.
